I hunt the area in late season with the muzzleloader but havent done any bow hunting in there as of yet. There are a lot of deer in some areas of the water gap and some nice bucks running around. A lot of land to hunt up in there. good luck

Thanks, a couple of guys I met hunting yesterday, told me about there recent hunt in the Delaware water gap, and thats the first time I had heard of it. I will try to get more info from them, and look into it further. They seemed very happy with the hunt on public ground.. I am recently retired Police Sgt. and hunt with the Fire Chief who will probably be retired by next year, so finally have more time. If anyone else has info on this area, would like to hear from you............thanks.

I used to bowhunt the DWGNRA on the Jersey side alot back in the 80s. Never had any trouble finding deer back then. I have no idea as to how the habitat has changed or the deer population dynamics have changed. One area I used to hunt was behind the Boy Scouts Camp Weygadt facility. That used to hold quite a few deer back then.

BTW Mac....I met up with one of your retirees the other day. Says he used to cruise Rt 31 all the time. Even wrote me a ticket once when I worked for Gary Gray. He lives up here in Tioga County now, but I didn't get his name.

Been hunting the area for the last 15 years of my 29 years of hunting. The area doesn't hold as many deer as it once did, but holds decent amounts, some areas better then others. The whole area is loaded with bears, coyotes, bobcats, etc., from time to time some nice bucks are seen and sometimes taken, but for the most part the average buck is a 4 pointer, true mountain deer. There is no way of getting a pattern on the deer.

I hunted the area one once this season, 1/2 day hunt didn't see anything, I can only hunt on Saturdays, and it has rained alot every Saturday this past October.

I will not be back up there till the muzzleloader season, I'm leaving for Illinois in a few days for 3 weeks, as I help a friend with a small semi-guided hunting lodge: 2000 plus acres

I live on the PA side of the DWGNRA and wasted a ton of time hunting it. The PA side is residential land, a ridge (pine trees), and then the river. Not the best habitat for deer

PAThwacker, we have a house in Digmans, we see some nice bucks in GAP on the PA side. If your heading north on Rt. 209 from the Digmans Ferry Bridge area. a few miles up on your left look for Zimmerman Road, take this road (truck 4x4 needed) woods are deep, seen some decent too good bucks in there
