Very sad.
Ever have them stalk you in the dark? Be afraid Bird, be very afraid.
Should we shoot every one we see? I have been saying that very thing for some time. They will get bolder from conditioning over generations. Don't think they are too small to mess you up bad.

I never heard this story, but it is not all that uncommon for coyotes up here to come at people. Although it is not a norm it does happen one time a guy was cutting firewood had a group come at him. He had to jump up on back of his pick-up truck and rev the chainsaw to ward them off. I have no place for a coyote and sure as heck wish we could rid this place up here of them..

This is not something I hear often, but unfortunately coyotes will attack people. I'm trying to help you Phil get rid of coyotes in Maine, but time is not always on my side. I started coyote hunting this year and have only been able to go a few times. Retirement is a long ways off.

One thing to remember is that hunting is not permitted in Canada's Nat'l Parks. As a result ,predators lose their fear of humans and humans become just another prey species.

I agree. This is rare. Any wild animal that loses its fear of man can be dangerous. The coyotes around here fear man with a passion. Has anyone ever watched one downwind? When they catch your scent its like they hit a brick wall.

Same here in Vermont but there are odd situations that happen with any wild animal. At best they are not predictable. Lots of states need to look at allowing bow hunters to carry a pistol.
