Default Just over 100K doe tags left in PA

Still plenty of doe tags left if you've got access.............

Plenty of tags still available in high density WMU's 2A and 2B

3B and 3D each have a few, I'd hurry if thats your destination

5C and 5D have plenty left too

5d is Philadelphia and surounding areas . Its very difficult to gain access the the deer in that WMU. 5C isn't much better.

2A and 2B are mostly private land and it may take some work but access is certainly possible although it's a bit late to just get started now for 2009.

2A isnt nearly as hard to get access as 2B and "sra" urban units where competition for the comparatively little land is fierce, though thanks to the effects of the deer program and landowner disgust, that access is getting a little harder every year. Ehd deaths the year before last had also closed some doors that I know of first hand. However there is plenty of land as this isnt an urban area, and place to hunt can be found.

Id also say the term "high density" wouldnt exactly apply unless of course you are using the word in a comparative sense. Although ehd whacked the hell outta the herd here, and we've had far too many tags for years and the herd had been decreased the last few years still, depsite claims of stabilization... I guess less than 10 dpsm like in the north would equate other "subaverage" deer numbers to "high density" by default. Last time Pa had a "high density" area on a land mass the scale of a wmu, wouldve been several years ago.

Id hardly call less than 25 owdpsm and declining "high density", especially when that density was pre-ehd and also before last seasons overkill harvest, so could conceivably be lower and probably is since its been decling every year previously according to pgc data. But hey....to each his own, and we really really need more trillium and hobblebush according to the "conservationists" lmao.

But dont worry your little heart. They'll sell. They always do.

At least in 2A and even more so in 2B, there's no need to rush. 2B wont likely sell out and both still have plenty.

That's right, buy them up and use them in any WMU you want to. The tags are identical other than the small WMU printed on them. Shoot your doe and tag it with the WMU you got it for then take your deer home and slap a different WMU tag on it. Then place your used deer tag back in your pocket and repeat as many times as you want. Just be sure to know the SGL or area that you didn't shoot your deer at just in case you might be questioned later on. Happy killing all and have fun.

You know this is going to happen all over the place because of their system they got set up now. You know they will catch very few and only if someone turns them in.
