I need to vent

For the last two years Ive been hunting places that were quite a bit of a drive 45minutes to an hour and a quarter.

So this year i decide to ask my neighbor if i can put a food plot in on his 30 acres which he agrees to.

Five minutes ago he comes to my door and tells me he is going into a wildlife preserve with the rest of the landowners on the hill and there will be no hunting.

This has got his wife written all over it. Damn environmental nut.

That certainly would ruin my day !! The sad part is the poor fools have no idea the problems they will create by creating a sanctuary for deer.. It will probably only take a few years before they will be complaining about the damage the deer are doing.

Sorry bro-that sucks. Especially if you did the work and paid the expense for the foodplot. At least they gave you sum time to come up with a plan B. what a bummer

I would suggest that any one who hunts and puts in food plots, write up a lease agreement. This happens all the time, where people change their mind and you are left out without a place to hunt.
If you have a lease agreement signed by the owner and you you have a legal contract.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

Screamin Steel 08-26-2009 08:57 AM

Hopefully this happened BEFORE you put your money and sweat into that food plot. That would be even worse.

My father just got torched pretty good on one of those verbal agreements. As someone else said, unless you have it in writing, the agreement isn't worth much.

That stinks like others said get it in writing with anything anymore
In the yesteryears a handshake deal worked . Today it dont mean poo poo to most people.
