Just got back this morning myself from a little scouting,BTB. With the temps in the upper 50's this morning, a fresher smell in the air along the river bottom, made me want to rush back home and get the bow. I'm ready! We also set up a new camera that we purchased at Cabela's yesterday. Will check it out Tuesday morning.

I nosed around this morning a bit. Like yourself blkpowder, the woods had that " falls coming " smell this morn, and not the 70 friggin * smell of late. Won't be long.

It's amazing how the cool fresh, but musty smell of the woods following the heated months of summer, builds the anticipation of the up and coming hunting season. I told my wife, somebody should make a women's perfume in that scent. I think you all know the answer I got for that one! Some things they don't find humorous I guess.

Another thing they don't see any humor in is when you avoid getting near them just before going out to hunt. Anyone know a gentle way of telling the wife that you don't want to take her smell into the woods with you

That is always a touchy subject.

The boy and I went did some walking. Seen some trails and good sign. We hung one stand where the boy wanted.A good place where the doe stage before going into fields. I also have seen a 5pt in that area.
Finished up some fall food plots.
How is everyone else doing?

Found a new secret weapon for food plots! This stuff is perennial, loves shade, can be planted anywhere in the woods with minimal effort and the deer love it!! It's something thats been right under my nose for years and the results have been amazing.

I'm not broadcasting my hard earned secret to the whole world but will share with those who ask via PM
