PA hunters have sowed thousands of acres of SGL with their license fees and tax dollars and the result is we have the worst hunting the last 30 years.
BTB complains about hunters who are unhappy with hunting areas with 12 PS DPSM while he hunts an area with 18 buck in one field.

BTB routinely insults and demeans PA hunters who are unhappy with the 40% reduction in our herd, while hunting an area in Ill. with 18 buck in one field. He supports HR in PA but it is obvious he doesn't practice it in Ill.
If he is willing to spend the money ,time and effort to have that quality of hunting in Ill. that is fine with me, but he shouldn't be belittling and demeaning PA hunters who are not happy with our current deer management.

Yes , he hunts PA , but if he gets a trophy buck from his lease in Ill. , do you think he cares if he doesn't get a small 8 pt. in PA ,which would satisfy most PA hunters.
When I hunted Wyo. and Montana the PA rifle season was still enjoyable but I didn't have the same drive to harvest a PA buck.

"That is the key, He is willing to do it. He is not sitting and waiting for Ill. do it for him."
Illinois didnt do anything to COUNTER his efforts either by managing the herd in a manner that cut the herd in half and has overall pizz poor quality as is occurring in Pa thanks to the econut influence.

Just got back to the computer after taking the boss someplace she wanted to go for a few days for the old anniversary.
Just for the record, yes, I hunt Illinois and I have a great farm there to hunt but I also hunt PA and find the hunting to be very good here on private land in 2B but also on public ground in 2F where my camp is. Half of my wall hangers are from right here in PA and the best ones are from pre AR/HR. Some were taken on public ground and some from private land that take considerable ongoing effort to obtain and maintain access to. All of my hunting access is the product of my own direct efforts. If that's buying a buck, then so be it. I'll do my best to keep buying em that way as long as I can.
Hunting is what you make of it and I am generally among the first to congratulate any hunter here who posts a pic or tells us of his success no matter what size or sex the deer is.
Some guys are really committed and some are far more casual about it. Either is fine. You will not find one negative comment from me on here in all the archives that was directed at a hunter for lack of success or effort except for those very few who whine about their lack of success while placing virtually ALL the blame on the PGC. It's the PGC's job to manage the game resources of this state the best way possible according to the science available. It is not the job of the PGC to manage the deer specifically the way Bluebird or Cornelius wants it managed.
As far as demeaning PA hunters, my negative comments are directed only at the few that can seem to find nothing to do but try to undermine virtually everything the PGC does these days.
By the way, this thread was about scouting and only deteriorated when Bluebird started with his "buying a buck" slams
