Pa. Nogamelands being Stocked With Deer

Id like to see the Nogamelands that have a low deer heard to be stocked by the game commission. There so many deer farms in the State ,that Im sure they would help with a cost reduction if the state bought ,lets say 20,000 deer with canadian genes.I would not mined paying 100 a year for a license if the money was used for that purpose. Then maybe I would hunt the nogamelands that my general tax dollar supports. Even if they used 50 of the license dollars at 1 million licenses sold they would have 50 million to buy deer,Now thats alot of quality deer. And I would gladly pay 100 for a license for a chance to shoot a nice deer. Then we all would be happy.Would beat seeing 50 hunters and 3 deer a week. I dont expect ,many hunters to support my idea, but thats what I would do if I had control.A buck in every pickup would be my motto.

Putting even 20,000 deer of Canadian strain into a herd of 1.5 million would do nothing, genetically.

We have the genes right now. Look at the Potter Co buck in the Game News from the 2001 season. That little girl sure knows we have the genes.

Cardeer...I'd be careful volunteering to pay $100 for your license. It may come true...whether the deer are stocked or not.

As far as stocking deer...It may work---for a while. Problem is that if there's a reason that the herd is not in good shape now, that problem will return in a few years.

It's just like when they introduce FL strain bass in Ohio. There are monster bass for a few years...then the fish develop the breeding/eating/hibernating habits of the Ohio fish. Pretty soon, we have a lake full of 2.5 pound bass.

They tried that with putting chinese pheasants In my area.Even though you couldn't hunt them for 4yrs in that area they found out alot died anyway.
They were after a hardier bird and thought the breeding of the chinese pheasant
with our own would produce this. They did surveys every year for 4yrs and found that the birds survival rate was no different then before.I am talking about pheasants not deer but just wonder if it may not be much of a differents overall. Also you would have to put a limit on the new bucks somehow or you would be defeating your purpose.

HEY CARDEER, here is something that you can do. Come down to Indiana County, we can go trap some of those brutes around here, we will then take them up there and put them on your property. FREE OF CHARGE, how does that sound? <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

OOOOOOO yeah, I almost forgot, if we do that, then you have to take me on a hunt in Illinois. You can pay for it all and you can be my guide. hahahaha <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)

CD lwhat do you mean non gamelands, State Forest ground, private property, state parks, they could release some in Sproul State Forest where I hunt in Clinton Countyand let the genetics get bred in to the local herd.

Cardeer, there are plenty of bucks like that in Potter County. Don't kid yourself and think there aren't. Lots of old bucks up there.

BTW CD, your idea of doing it yearly is about as foolish as contraception for does. I really can't believe people can think like this.

I am not going to jump all over you Cardeer....

....but I have one question and one statement.

What is &quot;NO&quot;Gamelands?

And....

...Do you honestly think they would go for importing more deer into a state that, in general, is trying to reduce the deer herd?
