Thanks.I put a buddy in one of my stands this past Monday and he passed on a real unique buck that I'm hunting. He would have shot it but he has to kill a doe first.I hate to hunt a stand more than once a week but the wind was perfect last night for that stand so I blew the afternoon off and hunted.I saw a spike at 5:20 pm and a big mature doe and a fawn at 7:00pm.The doe was at 10 yards and completly oblivious to my presence.I still have some deer from saturday in my spare fridge that needs processed so I let her walk.I've been out one morning and two afternoons so far.I could have easily killed at least 5 doe and had one legal buck just out of range.I won't hit it again until saturday.

I missed the first weekend here because I managed to find a buddy willing to do the drive to Illinois and we took a long weekend there. The bucks didnt cooperate but we had plenty of doe opportunities and brought home the seasons first venison.

I was planning to head out this afternoon but the wind is pretty brutal out there right now and the morning looks to be just about perfect. Hope to let the air out of a couple of does this by this weekend and plan on filling the 2 DMAP I have for 2F in early muzzy season.

Man, I just love this time of year!!
