Default Sunday Bowhunting in PA?

Just read in PA outdoor news that Rep Gergerly from Allegheny County hasintroduced HB1620legalizing bowhunting on Sundays. It's in committee but this could be the start toward Sunday hunting that we need.

Time to write some letters guys

And just to be fair to the gunners, my letters will also call for Sunday hunts for all of us

Do you think this bill being introduced, is for the hunters having more time to hunt or is itstrictly about increased herd reduction?

Goog question Pats. I think it's about hunting opportunities for three reasons.

First, the call for Sunday hunting from hunters is getting louder every day

Second, among those that have drifted away from hunting, "lack of time to hunt" has been the overwhelming reason given. With most working folks, opening Sunday up doubles their opportunities for time to hunt. That would likely lead to better license sales overall.

Third, with the exception of SRA's, the PGC is getting the herd reduction they wanted through doe license allocations. Since all but the SRA's sell out, demand still exceeds supply. it's logical to believe that if further herd reduction were the goal, they'd simply sell more doe tags.

Its a crime that a state so rich in hunting tradition does not permit sunday hunting!! But this is a pipe dream since the Farm Bureau, Audubon Soc.,
eco weenies etc. will never allow it. Pike
