Things are totally different in the fall and deer's patterns change with it.

The racks aren't as nice but heck, the venison tastes the same.
Exactly the wayI see it as well!! Food on the table beats the heck out of hunting that big racked buck that happened to wander out in front someone that has just started hunting..A lot of time that is what happens up here. You would be sitting back waiting all day only to find out that that monster buck had just walked out for some else 2 miles away.

That's why I love still hunting in the "dacks. Go find them each day. Many spots up there you could sit a week and never see a deer, let alone a mature buck. Still hunting tests your abilities like no other method, IMHO.
