Quality hunting is not an entitlement, if you want it you got to make it happen.
Exactly!
Wrong again. We had quality small game hunting during the 60s and 70s and we didn't have to do anything to make it happen. We still have quality turkey and bear hunting and hunters didn't have to do anything to make it happen. And, we had quality deer hunting even when we had 1.6M PS deer.

That's right, and that's why we need to keep in touch with these people.

A major victory for birds of prey was their addition to the Migratory Bird Treaty Act in 1972.

Probably just coincidence.

Agreed. Thanks Lost Horn.

The mouthy minority has managed to make just enough noise that a license increase has been stalled. If just a few more of the reasonable majority would make our position known, it could have been passed by now.

People who arent really unhappy don't call or write. So, unfortunately the loudmouths like corn dog and the persistent spin doctors like the bird get more attention than they deserve.

Hunter numbers declining double the national average.
Not even close. Try again. Pa License sales actually went up a tick in 08 while nationally they continue to drop
the surrounding states.

I can not find anything for 2008 sales but this is the last 10 years

37 years of 100% federal protection of avian predators has definitely made a big dent in our small game populations. [:@]

Dont see the feds changing that in our lifetime given the resistance we've seen to even the most reasonable control on wolves etc in the western states.

The mouthy minority has managed to make just enough noise that a license increase has been stalled. If just a few more of the reasonable majority would make our position known, it could have been passed by now.

How do you know who the minority is and who the majority is?

The minority is easy to tell, just like in Chicago politics they are the few whom post as many.

I'm not sure if its a sign of mental deficiency or just a "sign", but "most" of the "minority" seem incapable of mastering the quote function.

The few who post as many is spot on! One only needs to look back one page here to see the mouthiest of the minority talking to himself via an alias.
