Cat pic in SW PA
I'm not looking for a debate and I didn't touch the photo. Myfriend's boss lives in Sarver PA and took this photo in his backyard. Let me know if I uploaded this correctly and if you can see it.

No problem. Just curious. Why did you post this?
|
RE: Cat pic in SW PA

RE: Cat pic in SW PA
Nice house cat.

RE: Cat pic in SW PA
House cat? Really? Looks bigger to me. I posted this because there is always a debate aboutlions/cougars in PA and this is pretty far south. I just thought that you all would like to see it.

RE: Cat pic in SW PA
Sorry I didn't take the pic. Just passing it on. You would think that this person wouldn't grab the camera totake pictures of a normal house cat. The camera doesn't seem to be all that good, the resolution is pretty poor.

RE: Cat pic in SW PA
I'll say that it looks a bit bigger than a housecat but there isn't much of anything close to the cat where we can get a good size perspective. Pictures can decieve. Especially this kind with a big white backdrop
Jim brings up two good points. First, the tail aint quite right and there should be tracks. Not jumpin on it either way but the picture raises as many questions as it answers |
RE: Cat pic in SW PA
The size is somewhat deceptive, I believe...
Body proportions certainly suggest a house cat...Look at the vegetation in the background, bull thistles, I think... I don't think it's as big as it appears to be at first glance... I do believe it's a big ol' house cat.. Sure ain't no pumacougar unless somebody cut half it's tail off... Thanks for sharing..Interesting picture... |

RE: Cat pic in SW PA
I thought the tail was swinging away from the camera and that is why is doesn't appear to be too long. I talked to my buddy tonight and he is going to see if any more pics were taken.

RE: Cat pic in SW PA
nice pics but its a big ole housecat.
neck and short tail is not cougar. |
RE: Cat pic in SW PA
Maine coon and optical illusion.
|
RE: Cat pic in SW PA
now that thoose pics were taken the couger sighting in that area will go up all over a housecat
|
RE: Cat pic in SW PA
i had a house cat that was that big when i was a kid back in the 70's, it was at least 8" taller and 10" longer then any other cat we had at the time....that picture just looks like a house cat, but not knowing how far from the camera that cat was or any thing close by to judge size....just the shape is wrong to me.............bob

Yes, that is a house cat. To some it looks like whatever they are wanting it to look like. Thanks for posting anyway.

Looks bigger to me. i only saw 1 cougar here in clinton county, pa. no way it looked anything like that. neck is too full. you can almost see pointed ears . that cat does have a long tail, real long. to someone that MAY look like cougar in wild to. color is what will let you know its COUGAR and a long tail touching ground you will see,it will look like wip behind cougar running. |
RE: Cat pic in SW PA
That's a killing machine right there in that picture. I bet there ain't a songbird or mouse for hundreds of yards around that ain't heard about the legendary prowess of "Tabs".

RE: Cat pic in SW PA
husky, well fed, pet cat. Tiger type. Agreed, it is probably putting a wuppin' on baby rabbits, birds, etc.
|
RE: Cat pic in SW PA
I got a 12 pound Maine Coon cat that will fight anything out there. Been known to scream loud thus marking him as king of his domain. That is a house cat!

RE: Cat pic in SW PA
Looks like a big old tom cat. And judging by the country in the background he is feeding well on mice and rabbits.
