Hunting in Albany, NY

I am moving to Albany,NY in May and was wondering how the hunting is there? Are there places to hunt ducks/geese and deer? If so, where are they?

I went to college in Schenectady and hunted Albany county for deer back in the 80's it was a good spot. You might also want to knock on some doors or check for public area around Cobelskill.

here is a link to our DEC web page

One other thing--most of Albany County is shotgun-only for deer, except for a swath in the northwest part of the county (Albany-Cohoes area) which is bow-only. You'd be surprised how many deer are in that area.
