Most of you were very close!! I have no idea what his live weight was. He had hardly any fat on him as is the case for most buck after they have been chasing.

I used to butcher my own deer but found a farmer who does it for me at a reasonable price. And because he does his own cattle and hog butchering, he has all the necessary equipment. It sure beats deboning everything.
I'm sorry petro but there are a few 200+ lb deer running wild in PA. Believe it or not - that's up to you.

Why is it that you don't believe there are 200lb deer in PA Petropedro? Its not uncommon to see a deer that weighs over 200lbs here in sw PA. I personally killed one three years ago that weighed 225, granted thats the biggest buck i've ever killed but here in SW pa there are quite a bit of corn fields that supply proper nutrition for deer to reach that size. It took everything my buddy and I had to get the SOB 150 yrd to the truck but when he was put on the scale you better believe he weighed 225 live weight. Now in the middle part of the state in the mountains where there isn't much nutrition I can see that it would be hard to find a deer that tops the scale at 200 but believe me in parts of PA there are 200lb Plus deer roaming the woods.
Anywho i'd guestimate field dressed at 175 field dressed.

Lots of PA deer hitting 200 and over dress , I saw 4 over 200 this yr. I had one. They are getting bigger with new laws and land owners in the area I hunt, not letting every body that ask to hunt on their land anymore as they did yrs past. Plus hunters in that area letting them get 4or 5 yrs old be for harvesting them.
