DCNR DISABLED PERMITS
well, here is another screwed up program.[:@]
if you are disabled ,you can get permit from the DCNR to use a atv during hunting season. you would not believe the young people using a atv that claim they are disabled. hey, i can see if someone does not have use of legs or bad heart or like 80 or 90 etc but ones i am seeing look healthy to me.other than they were always lazy. iwas wondering where all those atvs were going this hunting season. another example how our system is being abused. i sitting in woods trying to hunt and all these young healthy looking people are riding right by me with disabled permits from DCNR. then i half to walk out after they disturbed woods with their noisy atv ,they go right by me,having a ball, oh , i forgot they are DISABLED. WHAT A JOKE THIS IS.[:@] |
RE: DCNR DISABLED PERMITS
I have one of those permits. But what real disabled person on a fixed income can afford a 12,000 sport vehicle. You do realize the atv must meet DCNR specs ,checked out by them and get a license placard.

ORIGINAL: cardeeer I have one of those permits. But what real disabled person on a fixed income can afford a 12,000 sport vehicle. ALL had bad backs i talked to:) they were going down trails in clinton county. i was shocked and even stopped 2 , i said,HOW CAN YOU RIDE AROUND DURING HUNTING SEASON DISTURBING MY DEER HUNTING, THE NOISE DROVE WHAT DEER I THINK WERE THERE OUT.[:@] i was PISSED.[:@] so, i called the DCNR, they said, yes, the disabled can use a atv to hunt off of or go into woods. i seen 1 of the locals that was using one, his only problem is he is to FAT and too LAZY.;) IF A HUNTER IS REALLY UNABLE TO WALK,ABOVE 75 YEARS OLD,i can see it. but the people i see can sit on bar stool and are climbing up treestands etc ,dont look to much like they cant walk.[:@] |

RE: DCNR DISABLED PERMITS
ORIGINAL: DougE You ain't riding an ATV in district 9that's for sure. what gets me is, they ride the atv in, very bumpy roads, then they take out their treestands and up tree and sit all day. you are hunter ,you know what shape you have to be in to sit all day in a tree with wind blowing at 20 degrees. having BAD HEART, you cant do it. even bad back as i have, you cant do it,i can take a few hrs, thats it. |
I have an update on this. I have had the same problem with guys doing these same things. As Sproulman has said. I have been working on this for two years now and finally gotten some where. My rep is working on getting DCNR to require Docs signature to obtain a permit. As of now anyone can go and say they are disabled and they can obtain a permit. No questions asked. If your see activity like this report the individuals to DCNR (even though you won't get anywhere) And contact your state rep to make them aware of this abuse of the program.
