RE: Any NY monsters on the ground?
ORIGINAL: Canuck33 Yes, sucks that the 167 buck is in, that sets the bar high. Still plenty of time for a bigger one to get knocked down. No better place in the state to do it than in the Rochester/Monroe County area either. Gotta love it when bucks are able to reach maturity. They just gotta learn to watch out for them cars... |
RE: Any NY monsters on the ground?
Would suck if you ask me I'm sure he already gets the promo's, should have entered to be honest but if he can find and down a giant like that then I guess he deserves it

RE: Any NY monsters on the ground?
He knows the guy who runs the Bristol store. I think that he just entered for the same reason that everyone else does...for the fun of it. He'd known about this buck being on his property since early Sept. (I was actually the first person to inform him of its existence) and had gotten several trailcam photos prior to arrowing him. I don't believe that he ever really thought that he would harvest the buck, especially on the second day of theseason. He says that he prob. won't take the free mount if he actually wins anyways and has been checking up on local taxidermists.

RE: Any NY monsters on the ground?
Definetly a stud of a buck no doubt about that, it cool to see the kicker G2 genetics on land you hunt, I had a monster 6X6 last year come in with that same look and kickers, this year I got pics of a decent split G2 buck I call Splitter he has 5" crotches on his G2's, he may need another year but he has awesome potential
