Default tighter antler restrictions in PA

I heard a little rumor that some eastern counties might end up with the 4 points per side rule. Has anyone else heard this?

You won' t see any changes. They will stay the course for a little bit before any changes take place. Doesn' t make sense to make any changes after only one year.

Rumor, that is all.

O, it is true. There are MANY MANY changes. Heck, my county is now divided into 4 different management units. Two are 3 points per side, and two are 4 points per side, when last year, the whole county was 4 points per side. Also, doe tag allocations are being changes with the new DMU' s. These were all proposed and are almost guarenteed to take effct. You can see them on the PGC' s website.

I knew about the new DMU' s but hadn' t really thought about how it would effect antler restriction. That' s a good point BM. All of the counties in my area are special regs areas and we will most likely become one big DMU. If the antler restrictions change in the east I would imagine it would be in the northern counties.

If you have ever hunted in south east PA....you probably know there aren' t that many big bucks around. I doubt they are gonna change the AR rules so soon

Eastern counties as in Special Reg areas or counties traditionally not in the Spec. Reg areas but in the Eastern Part of Pa?

I don' t see anything wrong with the DMU' s that are proposed other than the fact my county now is split into 2 areas. I hunt one track of land that actually appears to straddle the line. So I am confused as to which area to apply for but that is still months off.
