Western Massachusetts Mtn Lion Pic
Just rec'd this email from a friend... A good friend / state cop & his other statey buddy got this pic..
"The picturewas taken last week (third week of Sept 08) bythe hunter who set up a night-vision camera around the Dalton-Windsor town line upon the mountain. He was going to hunt the area and wanted to get pics of deer/bear, whatever, that might be around there. [blockquote] After the pic was taken and he saw what it was, he took it to the MA Wildlife, Game and Fish Place (whatever it's called) on Hubbard Avenue in Pittsfield and showed it to the rangers. The rangers did confirm what was in the pic as real - (and here's the kicker) - they do not want to notify people here of it - because their afraid it will start a panic!!!!"[/blockquote] ![]() |
RE: Western Massachusetts Mtn Lion Pic
The rangers did confirm what was in the pic as real Exactly how did he do that? Did they go out to the site in the woods to verify tracks or other possible evidence? Short of that I don't know how the ranger could confirm that the picture is of a mountain lion in Massachussetts. Could be of a mountain lion somewhere out west. |
RE: Western Massachusetts Mtn Lion Pic
You are right... could be... too bad he doesn't hunt out west...!

RE: Western Massachusetts Mtn Lion Pic
How did the ranger confirm it was a real pic and from western Ma?

RE: Western Massachusetts Mtn Lion Pic
It's easily proved...he takes them to the location where the camera was and VOILA the trees in teh picture are the same as the ones at the spot... [8D]

RE: Western Massachusetts Mtn Lion Pic
That is the only way to prove that the pic was taken in Western Ma. I would have to believe that this is important enough to take a few hours F/G time to validate. If F/G does not take the time to validate then that tells me that they already know that these cats live amongst our woods and want it hush/hush. They may also say that this is a released cat from some disgruntled owner and not really wild.
