Hey guys, im looking for a Hunting Club, southern NY. I live on Longisland and im looking to join a hunt club not that far away. please if you have any info please contact me

all these thousands of peeps on this site, and no one knows a hunt club in NY.. southern tier.. this suxx for me.. ill be hunting no where.

We've chatted on here and through PM's before.
I belong to two clubs down in southern NY; one in Orange county that releases a small quantity of pheasants almost every week of the season, but they have a 20 mi. restriction on new members. I've been grandfathered in, so I'm not affected, but I think that you would be out of range for that one.
The second club is based just outside of Poughkeepsie, NY and has a property there that they release pheasant on 4-5 times a season and they also have two or three other properties for deer hunting in Highland, Schoharie and Schroon Lake. They have monthly meetings (1st Thursday) from Sept. until June and you are required to attend almost all of the meetings and participate in a number of work hours each year. There are openings for this club available, but you would have to be sponsored by someone and their ass will be on the line for you.

These guys are always looking for members. My understanding is that they lease a lot of property in Sullivan, Orange and Delaware county (also Pennsylvania) but I am not sure if they own anything or if there is an accomodation for sleeping available? Also try the NYS Conservation Council website they have a listing of participating clubs in each county and you may be able to draw some information from that.

Here are 2 clubs in Dutchess county.

I use to be a member of the first one (12 years ago)that is located in Pleasant Valley,NY. Nice bunch of guys, but as stated in a previous post, they also have meeting and work day requirements.

I would consider public land if you don't have a place to hunt. Most clubs can be a pain about rules and such. You have guys squabling all the time about all sorts of nonsense in the clubs. There are fewer hunters than ever before in NYS, so I think public land could be a good option especially if you can hunt during the week days and away from opening day. Plus the NYC DEP also has a bunch of land in the southern zone and with a free access permit you can now hunt most of this land. Some public areas are surely better than others, but with some research I think you can find a place to hunt without joining a club.

Do you know of anyone interested in a great hunting location?

My friend and I found this private piece of land 225 acres in Dutchess County and the landowner will let us hunt if we bring 8 guys to make it worth to her. She runs a bed and breakfast. She has not let someone hunt her land for 25 years bc she goes down south for the winter. We have done well filling the slots with friends and family but are looking to fill a couple more. Last year was the first year we hunted and the land is full of deer and turkey. At her request we put together the following:

NYS Turkey & Deer Hunts! Dutchess County, Town of Rhineback (Zone 3F) 90 miles from NYC. Bow and Shotgun Hunts on 225 acres of private land fully equipped with blinds, tree stands and atv. Only 4 sessions a year. Sessions filling up fast.

Only sessions and dates available:
Fall Turkey (Bow or Shotgun) 10/6 to 10/9 $380 per hunter
Early Bow (Deer or Turkey) 10/27 to 10/30 $380 per hunter
Gun (Deer) 11/17 to 11/20 $380 per hunter
Late Bow (Deer) 12/10/to 12/13 $380 per hunter
