Aroostook county Maine

Im am wondering does anyone know the hunting outlook this winter for white tail in Aroostook county. I own land there but my Original home is in Illinois and i would love to bow a whitetail. But i must say northern Maine deer are virtually Unseen in the day time. And if it still is a only Buck Kill? thank you William Daughenbaugh

RE: Aroostook county Maine

you are right. its hard to kill deer up norht. even does. i believe it is bucks only. i know we hunt eustis and theres no doe permits given there. bow hunt8ing in the county would be tough! we hunt up there but only by tracking. its the only garenteed way to know your on a big buck. as far as the deer heard goes, they had a tough winter but so didnt the coyotes. im sure the #'s are down a little but i wouldnt hesitate to drive up w/ out scouting cut a big track and be gone on a walkabout! good luck. you should be able to look it up on the mainesportsman.com and see about the deer heard quality up there.
