Default How many public land hunters still hunting???

Just curious... My season is pretty much over the first day after opening day of rifle season... Deer seem like they just fall of the map... 9 times out of 10 all I see after opening day are does... And there so spooky there pretty hard to get with a bow

i went out on public land yesterday with the bow. passed up 9 does and a four point and a spike. all walked within 25 yards.

i agree that they are very skiddish this time of year. you gotta adapt and overcome. they're still out there.

I was thinking that maybe there could be a area for public land hunters to go to, to swap nightmares... The only prob would be that out of the thousands of HNImembers. There would only be 4 or 5 people on the eletepublic land forum. Wouldn't be a whole lot of action there

Late season when it is cold I don't waste my time n the morning . Deer tend to move durning the earmest parts of the day . I may go in from 10 till dark since deer seem to move anytime durning the warmer parts . I hunt from bed to feed . Closer to fields and what not
