Don't know anything about it, I just know what WSSC stands for. The main office used to be in Hyattsville but that was many moons ago, probably have moved to somewhere else now. Call them and I'm sure they will put you in touch with someone.

You want to give Brighton dam a call and ask about the hunting on WSSC 301-774-9124 . They also have gun hunts on some of the areas . The areas are not hunted to much . You get a big rush early in the season but it dies out later in the year.

I think I'm just looking for lower traffic bow only areas. I was curious if that was one of them. Does anyone else know of places that don't get much traffic due to bow only?

I'm not sure if each area is the same... but my guess is going to be that you can go to just about any WMA in Maryland this time of year and find lower traffic than earlier in the season. I think a lot of people stop hunting all together after the December month. That just leaves more for the rest of us. I'm actually considering trying out a bow only area in Harford county once before the season ends. Its just a BAD drag if you get one where I would be going.

Good luck to anyone getting out with the bow this weekend. I will be out either all day Saturday or just the afternoon. The buck that I was after... appears to be dead. While scouting this afternoon I came upon a spine.... a leg... and then found the head. He was had split brows on both sides and 3 other points on each side for a total of 10 points. Nice mass and tine length too. I'm almost positive he was the buck I saw shacked up with a doe before the gun season came in. Very FEW people hunt this somewhat local property so I have a feeling he was either poached and not recovered or one of the guys that hunts the property with us made a bad shot and didn't pursue. What really gets me is that these other guys have killed SOOOOO many deer this year, that I am afraid that all of the mature bucks may have been knocked off. I found this beautiful 10 dead... and saw what was at least a mature 8 with an arrow stuck in his shoulder the same day I first saw the 10 back in November.

Seeing a beautiful buck die in the middle of the woods like that makes me sick. [:'(] Oh well, I will be saving the rack and adding it to the collection. I took a picture with my cell phone, but will try and get more this weekend. Sorry for the rant.... but still... GOOD LUCK if going out!

I'm going out this weekend. Looking for my first bow kill of the season. Just bought a house in October and it needed a lot of fixing up!!

Hammy, sorry to hear that. That would make me sick as well.
