Lol, i was out in the snow all day. Man i was wet, but not really cold. I did alot of walking. jumped up 3 on 2 diffrent occasions. my cousin that was with me saw 5 about 80 yards away. He did get 1 of them. So not a bad day. been out at meade every day this week just picking sections i have never been in and walking around. Got a new gps so i been marking some spots.
Going again today but not till about 9:30, kids have a delayed school day due to snow but i'll be there.

Well Doug, did you see anyone or anything. Cause i saw you. Well just rode by your truck, i saw 6 deer today, 4 of which were very big. They were running past me at top speed. Going back out tomorrow morning. I can't get out to early though, have to get the kids off to school or else they may not go if you know what i mean.

I saw two does at a distance, but wouldn't have shot if they came by at 10 yards and posed broadside. I haven't seen the first buck at Meade this year, probably because the rut didn't match up with when I was able to go.

Once again, I was settled in before the Bugs Bunny style wake up bugling at the army barraks or wherever, and did enjoy just being out there in the snow.

I was out at meade again today. Just walking around. Jumped up alot of deer, never shot at anything though. Been seeing alot of really small deer there this year.

So is anyone going to go out for muzzleloader?

What are you going to be doing different? Trying to get near food sources? Bedding areas? Any scents? I might go out this coming Saturday.

I'll get out there again at some point, but goose season comes in this Saturday and we have a cadre of guys (including "ultraman" from this bbs) looking forward to doing quite a bit of goose hunting this year.


What are the dates for muzzleloader (ie. it starts this Saturday and goes for two weeks?)

Yup starts this SAT the 15th and goes 2 weeks like shotgun.

Then there is a two day shotgun the first friday and saturday in Jan.
