what extra tactics are you using now?
im in maryland, but anyone around me, what extra tactics are you pulling out of your bag this time of year? right before the rut starts i believe. any use in using some doe scents? rattling, grunts? whatever. what extra are you doing right now except for just siting in a tree stand and waiting for the deer to come by? thanks

I've started doing a bit more grunting. I'll pull out the rattle bag next week and use it when the weather is cooler. I stopped using estrous urine years ago when the owner of the pro shop pointed out that real deer are spreading large amounts of the fresh stuff all over the woods so there is no reason for them to come specifically to the small amount we put out. I've never seen the "pro's using it in videos either. I've done just as well without it.

The best tactic right now is plant your a$$ in a tree for as long as possible as often as possible. Judging by all of your other posts you are mainly hunting public land where every other joker in the woods is grunting, bleating, and rattling. Sit still and be quiet leave all those other gadgets at home and you will see bucks.
