Whats the top county for Mature bucks taken in New York.Looking for some new ground to Bowhunt(Prefer State Land)???

I am in Suffolk CountyLong island and i have heard that some of the biggest bucks are from here due to the lack of gun hunting. There is a 3 month bow season and a 1 month shotgun seasonso many less deer are killed and they grow to be older and bigger.

For big bucks look at westchester or suffolk county. Only problem is getting permission in hunting any parcal of land in these 2 counties.

Your all wrong, take a look at total numbers of large bucks in the books. You'll find the biggest producer has been for many yrs., Steuben Co.

Thank all for the info. Won't be this year to start scouting in the feild, but I will have lots of time to check the maps for next year....
