RE: MD Opening Day Results!!!
The weather certainly cooperated. It was cool with an occassional light sprinkle. I didn't see anything until a little before 8am. I thought I had a yearling doe coming my way -- no spots and a bigger body and head than a fawn would have. However, binoculars revealed two one inch "bumps" on this guy and he eventually walked by me at 15 yards. While I was watching him, a doe and a fawn silently walked right under my stand at around 9:00. They slowly fed out of sight and then slowly came back the same way about 20 minutes later and never realized I was there. I had a prior engagement that evening, but it was windy here anyway.
I went this morning, but the neighbor's cows were all bellowing at the top of their lungs all morning and by 8:30am, I had all I could stand of it and decided that the deer weren't going to come that way either with the constant, LOUD noise they were making. I'm going to a different property tonight and the next few days.
