Well sproulman I finally have 3 large cat tracks on my cell phone. Mom and 1 cub that flew across a dirt road in front of me and a friend out hunting today... We were driving down a dirt road and came to a Y in the road. There was a raccon caught in someones trap so we took a left turn that went down a hill. As we started down the hill out they flew a mother and cub rapidly dissappearing into the woods. I sped up hoping to catch another glimsp of them but got hung up by my tow hitch in a wash out at the bottom of the hill. After getting the truck outI went back and found the tracks in some sand. I got out a dollar bill and put it beside them one by one and took 3 pics. 2 of the big one and 1 of the little one. The big one was the length of the dollar bill and the small one was about the size of an average coyote up here. I do not have e-mail service soI cannot post them here however i do have them and already have shown a few people up here.

animals seem to follow roads..
most of sighting i have heard and 1 i saw were all on roads,usually well traveled dirt roads......

wow, that is big track..

coyotes here travel the pipelines ,theycover many miles a day.....

Whether I "believe" or not...is moot.

If you go back and read between the lines here and there you'll cypher a bit of what I actually do "believe".

For the record tho'......there ain't no Cats 'round these parts.

To confirm what wilds is saying, I'm from Oregon and the spotted owl and wetlands were a big deal, I can remember when we were logging they came in and shut us down for days cause of the spotted owl, fact is there are cougars in new york, people shouldn't make a big deal out of it cause wilds is right they will close of certain places to hunt and do everything in their power to protect and preserve the cats. I have hunted for 35+ years and I have foundout you leave well enough alone, no reason to stir the pot if it doesn't need to be.

A guy on dayshift came in this morning telling the wholeplant about the Cougar he saw in his yard last evening.....not far from my place.

Honest feller, not known for story tellin'.........

I had to tell him he din't see a Cat.

Musta been a dog, or sumthin'....but it weren't no Cat.

Wilds I get what YOU are saying...I have a farm up in Northern PA and I must say that there are NO Cats.....

Sheep that are lost(all coyotes) baby cows that are lost(coyotes) High pitched yell at night...fishercat, tracks....bobcat.

I am gonna go with Wilds on this one...No Mountain lions in PA

i wonder if they could shut down doe hunting if someday we say we saw DOE.

its getting to that point now,i have no doubt that this wipe out of deer here in wmu2g will someday catch up with those hunters that are getting 8 doe.......


i hate to see our hunting be affected but if it would stop this maddness here in wmu2g,i guess i would report seeing a DOE........

Sproulman,I am not sure if realize the manatude something like this would have on our way of life. Be it up here or in your area it is far better to say nothing about a cougar even if you had a pic or could prove it in any other way. IfI showed the wrong people the pics on my cell phone they would try to make me show them where they were for sure.I work for a pulp mill and my job would be gone as well as most of the areasI hunt in would be closed down. So no i wouldn't show the ones thatwould love to get their hands on them. RatherI would show them to friends and fellow hunters and then delete them off my phone to ensure that the wrong people wouldn't ever get them.

I also think i am getting close top picking out where one travels in a very hugh circle covering a vast amount of miles. But, as others are saying it is a lynx and nothing else, or a very large bobcat that is doing this.
