I do a good bit of hunting in the Potomac-Garrett State forest. Would love to find some private land to hunt on up there. Got family that live in Mt. Lake Park, but no land.

I've been hunting Western Md all my life... Nice place to hunt if you don't mind all the trash in the woods and on the roads, people walking up and sitting 50 yards from your treestand on opening day of rifle season, and all the Pa poachers shooting does on the 3 day muzzleloader... Other than that its a awsome place to hunt

Never hunted MD, but we drove through on our way back from VA this week. Looked like some real pretty land to me.

I didn't think there were any poachers from PA. I thought they all lived up in NY!!!

I'll stick with good old Cecil County. Elk Neck and Fair Hill state parks.Lots of WMA's loaded with deer and some real good ones with hardly any pressure during bow season. Especially in the middle of the week. I hunt one WMA and have hadone guy in the last 4 years walk by me. I love hunting in my area you guys should come on over.

Fair Hill has 4 to 5 different bow hunting areas. Some are 50 acres and some are a couple hundred acres. If you go to the ranger station you can get all the maps of the areas. Some require long walks to get out there which equals no pressure.I have only hunted there 5 or 6 times and seen deer almost every time out.

I travel out there every spring to chase gobblers on private land. For many years I hunted public land and saw hoards of other hunters. I had people tell me that poachers were killing all the longbeards starting about a month before the season opened and it was easy to believe based on what I saw. After hunting there one opening day of deer firearms season, I vowed never to take my life in my hands again like that!;) The private land I hunt is nice and I don't have to face the crowds anymore. It's a long drive, but my chances there far exceed my chances around here for turkeys.

Yea don't pay any attention to me... I've only been hunting Western Md public land all my life... What do I knowI say fight with the old lady about going... Spend roughly 100.00... And have yor hunt screwed up by a non resident that lives 20 minutes down the road and could care less about your states game laws and what the woods look like after he leaves... Sounds like a good time. Don't it???
