Pittsburgh area hunts

Does anybody know any place to hunt around Pittsburgh, PA other than the gamelands?

Well, let's just say you almost have to be an outlaw to hunt most of Allegheny county. Land is hard to come by other than gamelands. I hunted with a group once and they were pushing the outlaw line pretty heavily. Pushing out backyards and what not. It wasn't for me. I've heard of some deer damage areas in Sewickley heights. People having landscaping ruined and giving permission. I guess it's time to knock on some doors!! Best of luck to you. I know I see deer dead on the road almost in downtown Pittsburgh! I always wonder where the heck do they come from?

It is VERY difficult to find land around pittsburgh, you have to know someone or be willing to walk the fine line of trespass. MANY people will hunt any open land that doesn't have a sign on it. I'm not comfortable hunting land that I don't know who owns. Good luck.

I agree with what is said so far, it is hard to find areas to hunt in Allegheny County. I'm assuming you are asking about deer and not turkey or small game. I think there might be a little more legal opportunity if you hunt with a bow rather than a slug.
