RE: tioga preserve?
A couple of buddies from work go to a couple different preserves , I know one is down around seven springs & they enjoy it. They have taken boar, Fallow deer & Texas Dall sheep. I think it would be alot of fun for your son. From what my freinds told me your boy will definately see game.

RE: tioga preserve?
you want to take your son on his first hunt to a preserve to take his first deer(or whatever) almost gaurented? i dont want to be rude or anything but the way i see it its nice for the kid and all but i think that it would get his hopes up to kill a big buck the first time he goes out all the time and when your hunting fair chase no ranches or anything it usually doesnt go like that all the time...i mean its a great idea and all but i think it would kinda make the kid not like hunting so much and not respect the trophy he may take there as much as he did if it was harder and worked for....to me hunting a 1500 acre preserve is far from hard...and when he goes out on a real hunt and not get anything he may not like that..just something to think about..i know i worked for my first deer...last day of the season..and even though its "only" a doe its my first deer and i feel i earned it and have great respect for that animal...it would be a great idea after he hunts fair chase for a while and sees how it really is or maybe he wont care and still not care if he goes out later fair chase and gets nothing..i think id be dissappointed to say the least after taking a nice 10pt wall hanger as my first...its kinda hard to explain..im not trying to be rude or anything i think its a great idea and everything...maybe you should wait though..or maybe he wont ever hunt fair chase i duno.....just something to think about..hope you dont take it the wrong way i love the idea...

RE: tioga preserve?
I realize what your try to do.and thats your business. But I can relate that most of the preserves in Pa are just to small to make it a fair chase hunt. Now in a place like texas where there is 200,000 acres fenced is a little different story.I went along with a disabled person to a Pa preserve about that size.In that area.I was not hunting. He was out 45 minutes shot a fallow deer. When they went to retrieve it with a tractor and wagon I went with. While I was sitting on the tractor and the guide was fieldressing the deer I had several type of goats,a couple small whitetails just walk up and look at me 20 yards away.I ask the guide what was wrong with them.He said oh they were just brought and put here from are raising pens. Needless to say the guy that was hunting felt bad all the way home. The same place had a white bull elk in a 40 acre pasture and it had a 20,000 price tag on it.Just some things I know about these little preserves.

RE: tioga preserve?
T-F, White Oak Lodge is just what we call our hunting camp. We are in Sullivan County, PA. On top of Red Rock Mountain near Ricketts Glen State Park. We've been planting white oak trees around the property for 8-10 years now so we named the camp that. We used to call it Heiligenstadt.
