LIONS, TIGERS AND BEARS, OH MY!
 

HEY GUYS,

ANYBODY IN PENNSYLVANIA SEE ANY BOBCATS, MT LIONS, ETC ANYWHERE NEAR SCHUYLKILL COUNTY....JUST CURIOUS...SEEMS LIKE ALL KINDS OF SPECIES ARE TURNING UP EVERYWHERE,,,IF ANYONE HAS ANY STORIES PLEASE SHARE....THANKS

My nephew has a cabin in western Md and it's on the edge of a big clearing... He was in his cabin and looked out the window and sen a big cat in the clearing... I told him it was prob a bob cat... He said it was as big as a deer and had a long tail... Then a couple weeks later while driving down the road he said he seen it again about 1/2 mile from the last sighting... Sounds like some kind of mountain lion;)

Some years ago the DNR did confirm Mt Lions in western Md. They were thought to be released pets. No confirmation of a reproducing population has ever been documented in Md in recent times.

I just love when DNR's state the mountain lions don't exist in an area, but emphasize that it is illegal to kill one!

This isn't to suggest I believe in all sightings, etc. but the DNR emphasis makes you wonder why they'd say that if none are supposed to be there, unless they are referring to pets released in the wild.
