HELP!!
 

Couldanyone one Please help me out? I havent hunted for the past 10 years because of a disability. I had surgery on my left arm. I need to hunt with a crossbow now. I started to go back to my hunting spots and be-hold there are houses on them now.I’m getting more disgusted as I search for new hunting grounds. Try and get permission to hunt private land?? No one as of this time will give me permission. Where can I go? I live in western MA.. What happen to all this tax money on sports equipment and $5 charge on licenses by the state that is supposed to by land for us? Make a long story short we are loosing a lot of prime hunting land because of new housing!! We need to do something soon or we will not have any land left to hunt!! Thanks

bear town and october mountain are both open to the publicthere around the lee area. good luck finding a spot!! im acctually not sure about october mountain being huntable, but im not sure.

Thank You, One thing I hate is scouting for a couple of months lookingfor a good buck. Than when gun season opens it's a mad house out ther!! The sun comes up, thinking I'm the only one there, The whole area turns into a punpkin patch, hunters all over. Realy Discouraging!!

Welcome to Mass, And if you ever get a spot like you want you had better hide your truck and tell no one and I mean no one, or it will turn into a pumpkin patch.

looks like a pumpkin patch because alot of land has been bought by people, I beleive alot from boston. They post the land and don't let you hunt it? I drove around the back roads around theLower Orange area and south, I'm finding alotofHUGE HOUSES which would hit the $1 mil. mark on small dirt roads. These are not the houses you would expect to see in the woods? There the type you see along the shore line of lakes such as Lake Winie. in NH.

We get new WMA's or expantion of existing ones annually with that money. Read the press releases in Masswildlife.org and you will see. We are also gaining access to many private owned lands through easement programs. There is a large list on Masswildlife.org. Also check DCR page for S-Parks open to hunting. There is plenty of room out there now that many guys hunt central and eastern MA instead. I have been huntign zone 2 on public lands for 3 years now and have only seen one hunter in all that time.
