I couldn't agree more. Alot of hunters want to sit in the same stand they have for years and won't go lookin' for a change in pattern. Most likely , forest growth ,or logging or food supply, or some other factorhas been the biggestreasonfor the lack of deer sightings. You sure can't figure it out in a weekend. I hear the same from the weekend worriors.

I totally agree with this post, but the only thing that I have never liked recently is rifle season. The length of the season and bag limits are OK and all, but I'm really getting tired of having bullets whizz past my head. How long before one of them connects? There are just too many people in the woods these days. Give us slug guns :D

I saw statistics where slug guns were involved in more accidental shooting than rifles.

I've seen that too. It may have something to do with the fact that slug guns are the weapon used most often in more highly populated areas.

rifle bullets travel for miles. slugs don't. that's convincing enough for me.
