2 questions about pa.
1. are joggers allowed on state game lands??
2. are permanent stands allowed on state game lands?? i ask these questions, because today i was out and i seen a jogger on the state game lands jogging on the tram roads that circle the woods i hunt.,ore than once he circled in about hr and half. i also seen permanent wooden made treestands with ladders that have been there many years and been in up keep conditions.i been hunting these woods for many years but only seen them occupied once. there are like 3 of them and they are all the same kind,i presume made by the same person or people. it kinda deters me away from those areas but if no one is hunting them at the time i get there and i set up beside them.i don't no what would happen.any suggestions or ideas?? |

I'm not sure, but I think during the rifle season, anyone on state game lands has to wear orange, except on Sundays.

RE: 2 questions about pa.
i do not agree with people useing state game lands for recreation other than hunting during season.. if they use it off season,, i don't see a problem.. but i would have to say they should not have the right todo so during season..he did have a light red shirt on,, but still,, during hunting season to be joggin on state game lands?? that should not be allowed.. i payed for a license to hunt,, not watch a jogger spook the animals i am hunting..

RE: 2 questions about pa.
Jogging is O.K., but you need to be aware of where you are, and who else is using the property for it's intended purpose.

RE: 2 questions about pa.
I hunt in a gamelands in PA where during the 2 week gun deer season people are not allowed on the land unless hunting. I know they are not all like that but i think it is a good idea. All the rest of hunting season anyone on the gamelands must wear the same ammount of orange as a gun deer hunter. They must wear the 250 sq. in. even during turkey when hunters only need a hat.

RE: 2 questions about pa.
Straight from the PGC...
"Except on Sundays, to be present on state game lands from Nov. 15 through Dec.15 inclusive when not engaged in lawful hunting or trapping and fail to wear a minimum of 250 square inches of fluorescent orange material on the head, chest and back combined, or, in lieu thereof, a hat of the same colored material. Orange material must be visible 360 degrees. Persons using shooting ranges are exempted." |
RE: 2 questions about pa.
Bailey - it is the same as asking who patrols the highways to stop speeding. The police can't catch everyone who speeds and unfortunately many game law violators also get away. Hopefully the ones that are caught act somewhat as a deterrent.
The SGL's are used for any number of illegal activities from meth labs to dumping grounds. The PGC does what it can with the resources available. |
