I'm now a Property Owner!

My father and I closed on 35 acres down in south jersey yesterday. Zone 29 to be exact. Its mostly hardwoods and has almost 300 yds on pond frontage. Tons of Turkey sign and good deer sign. Met the neighbors while posting the land yesterday and they said they keep a tight ship when it comes to tresspassers. We didnt find any usable deer stand on the place which is a good sign.

Needless to say we are quite excited! Its a dream come true. We've been through hell getting this deal done (It started late April) but as I'm looking at the survey map, I almost have to pinch myself to confirm Im not asleep. :D

Well, needless to say my hunting in Delaware will decrease alot next year. We have alot of work to do and I have alot to learn about the area but I'm looking forward to every minute. Any suggestions from people who have been through something like this would be appreciated.

So who will volunteer to start the DE hunting threads next year? ;)

That's a dream come true. I'm happy for you. I'm looking for land, but land in Mass is really expensive. Probably gonna buy up in Maine somewhere. I don't know much about land management, but I'd stick with what I assume are the basics; a food plot, and a sanctuary area. Anyway, when I finally get my chunk o land the first thing I'm gonna do is establish a bait site so maybe I can finally get a bear.

Good luck. Maybe youshould post a question or two in the wildlife management section.

I was wondering when you would chime in.

I'm looking for land, but land in Mass is really expensive.
My In Law Cousinslive in the Southwick/Agawam area and say the same thing. They'd love to buy but its expensive as hell. Keep your eye out, it took 5 years of looking before this land popped up on Realtor.com. Same price spread the state has been paying for open space. Its a miracle the state didnt scoop it up. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
