thanks guy for the warm welcome.

i been out to this spot i been hunting, a week before gun season opened. i was there for about 2 hours then i see a doe and 8 pointer chasing her. now i went back to the same spot when gun opened up, i was there for almost the whole day didn't spot anything but 10 other hunters.

so i have moved location to deeper into the woods. now i have been there for about 3 weeks now, every weekend friday- sunday 4am to 5pm. i have seen so many tracks, new droppings, scraps..etc. every sign of deer, but i have not seen one DEER...

am i doing something wrong?

is this enough infor to answer my question??

I can"t say if you are doing anything wrong if I can't see what your doing. But, I have a feeling you are walking around alot ( not sure ). Perhaps less walking and more sitting will do better. You need to find a trail going in and out of that place and sit and watch it. Get some cover scent as well and perhaps some deer scent but, mostly just sit back and watch the trail they use. Good Luck

no i didn't walk around much just to a spot that i saw alot of deer's tracks and dropping. put down my cover scent and Doe scent thing and i have scent lock stuff on all my gear. the spot i found is under a pine tree with many acorn tress and walnut tress around it.about 100 yard(down hill)is posted land(farm).alot ofscraps on small trees. i know that the closest hunter is my buddy about 100-1500 yards from me. so i don't see what i am doing wrong. we usally get there at 4am,eat and then walk in.i take about30 minutes to get to the spot.i sitting waiting and waiting and nothing.

do you think i on the top of the hill the problem? i hear alot of far off shots.

i am hunting Hi-Tor (naples, ny)state forest. 6k acs.
