Congrats on such a monster! A friend of mine got a 11 pointer Saturday that dressed out 232lbs. I took a friend hunting this morning and we never made to where we was heading as we picked up a small 8 pointer, about the same size as my spike horn ealier. The tagging station we was at said they are about equal now to the last 2 years combinded. Just think there is almost 2 weeks left of hunting here. Again congrats and Good Luck Hunting To All.

The width makes it look like a dang-on Moose! Awesome buck though and beautiful countryside.

lol.......the outdoor writer for the Bangor Daily News mentioned to us that he got his moose permit this year....his rack was just over 28".

Lets just hope this beast wasn't ruttin with the moose .

Definately some good genetics in this area....we pulled out another large 8ptr last year with a 24" spread. Last week of the season so he was down to 185'ish.

........we figure they had to be from the same line.

WRYFLY

I havea tonof respect for anyone that hunts like that in Maine. Anytime you get a deer like that in those thick woods up there you know you damn well earned your deer. That is truly a trophy of a lifetime right there. I hope the beer was cold!

Wryfly,

That was a great time that we had in the Maine woods. Thanks for posting our story.

It just goes to show that hard work and getting off the beaten path pays off with great deer.

I can't wait for next year, it sure is a blast to hunt with my "little Bro"!

There is something special about a northwoods Maine buck. That one is a real beauty and I salute you.
