DE Shotgun Deer - Nov
 

Decided to bag the bow hunt today being so warm. I did drive down and check the stands and poke around for sign. Stands were cool but there was very little sign. Nothing has been touching the corn and there are no tracks, scrapes, rubs,,, nothing. Just have to hope that when the shooting starts deer will move across the farm boundries and give us a shot. Its been like this in the past and we've done well. There's been times there was tons of sign and we got skunked. We'll see.

It'll be weird hunting the November season in my Sept gear! Suppose to be almost 70. I was in a t-shirt and jeans today walking around sweating. That wont help the cause either. But, anythng can happen opening day! ;)

I"ll be out there right up the road from you, I disked those lots on Mon at Rt 6 & 9 where the white fences are , across from your hunting , you'd better get down there and buy one while they are still available...

Im back early. No Deer. Didnt hear a shot from anywhere close by. No shooting after 730am. No one went out at farms around us and the deer werent moving. Way too warm out. Was swatting skeeters at dawn. Decided to come home and work on leaves and put in a FULL day tomorrow. More people should be out moving the deer around, I hope so anyhow.

How'd you make out Ron?

I made it out this morning. I had a buck come by 45m prior to legal shooting time. Made quite a rucus, I could hear him comming from 100yds away. Decided to stop 5yrds from my stand for a while, was fun watching him as it was pretty light out w/ the moon. Never saw a deer once legal hit. Did hear lot's of shooting though.

On the farm across from Allee House, no shots fired , 1 guy saw a buck , small, but couldnt get a shot. My buddy got a 7 pt down at his dads farm outiside of Milton, cant make it this evening , be back out in the a.m. across from the Allee. I guess Bombay wasnt opened today, no cars and the gate was closed, I like it when they are open, they run themn over to me....

Sat all day and didnt see freakin deer. Wind was bad and it was way too warm. Some shooting across the street in the evening. Worse all day hunt ever.

Pretty much the same for me I did hear a lot of shooting across the road at Bombay Hook , was hoping they would run some over to me... Not a chance...

I didnt go today. Just burned out from all the driving. Wont get out again until Saturday. This is turning into another disappointing season.

I didnt go today either , I worked at the farm (office work) and the guys went out about 3-30 but I left my boots home and it was wet and all I had on was street shoes, I put them in the truck as soon as I got home for tomorrow....

Bagged a nice 8pnt last night.14" spread,nice mass,about 160 +- on the hoof..Let 2 nice does walk in 2 days to get to this guy.

Now its time to try and bag the 10 & 12 pnt brutes we've got pictures all thru the summer.
These 2 guys are 225-250lb deer.We watch from stands as they court all the does on adjacent farm.

I went today p.m. only left the stand at 5 20 was right along Rt 9 in front of the Allee House didnt see a thing..... heard one shot over at Bombay....

Got this on public land tonite, 6 years to get a nice buck. wish it was with a bow though.

Lums, and there have been at least forty hunters the times that i have been there this week. Thats one of the reasons i was so surprised he was out before dark.

That's a mighty fine Deer. A few monsters lurking on public land - and - some of these state parks. I heard there was another Moose(Biggg Deer)shot up north in a state park during muzzle season?? Not much talk from the state as they want to keep the hords of hunters to a minimum.

Yeah opening week end; (yeah i now it's late) but the amish boy we hunt with bagged a giant 14 point brute down in georgetown Sat. night the 11th. The buck ran past me doing 100mph and he ended up gettin it. 20yrd shot he said. Show that there is no skill in hunting. Oh and duckmastor2the 16 point with 8 inch drope tines was in the dover post so if u can pick one up the story is good butthere is no pics.

Thats a damn fine deer thru. Esp on Lums. He must have had a real itch in his pants, making him come out with any light given all the pressure and this warm weather. Good job! :)

A real brute was shot at Lums last year also, bigger than this one.If I can ever getRonM to show me around that place Imight give it some serious thought next year for bowhunting. He holds the inside scoupe on that place.

Hunted sun up til 10:30am on the last day. Saw nothing. Guy next store shot 3x. Saw him leave not dragging anything and he didnt come back.

1st time ever, 11 years hunting the leased place without even seeing a deer during shotgun. I guess deer really dont like flooded timber after all. :(

Time for cocktail.....
