It was slow this past weekend , i only know of one nice buck being taken so far , a decent 8 point.... ive seen some dinks and doe , but nothing has given me a good shot to fill the freezer , and nothing with a big enough rack has came close.

I've not seen any big bucks yet. I took a button buck on Saturday morning. I've seen 3 nice 8 pointers hanging down at the butcher shop. But other than that I've not heard of any monsters being harvested locally. Still early though.

tons of deer activity where I'm at but they keep switching trails on me and I always seem to be on the wrong one. No bucks though.

Had a doe with two fawns and two young bucks following her, come in on Thursday evening. A neighbor of my Dads got a real nice eight point on Saturday. I saw three young bucks along the road in broad daylight over the weekend. No scrapes and very few rubs though in my area.

1 doe down, should be 2 or more. Passed on a few thinking I had a buck pegged, when a guy walked thru my area spooking all the deer around me[:@]Then I missed a doe[:-]I will be back to targeting does, cause I usually don't see many nice bucks this time of year. I'll shoot (at;)) does till the last week of Oct.

I've been seeing some deer in the afternoon where I hunt, but only one of which was a racked buck. Saw several buttons and some doe. Haven't released the string yet. It's early.

RE: Any Luck in PA?

Today is Monday the 16th.
I took an evening hunt in my stand leading to the oaks. Got situated by about 4:30. Saw a flock of turkeys come directly under me and that was it. NO deer.
I talked to my Dad before I went to my stand. He hunted his honey hole stand from before sun-up to about 3:00. He said around noon that one of the biggest whitetails he has ever seen in the woods of PA snuck in on him. While he was looking down into the draw, the buck must have stepped outfromhis left. Dad turned his head and looked right into the bucks eyes, as it was looking directly at him. Lucky for Dad, the buck was far enough away that it didn't pick him out, but it was too far for a shot. After a prolonged stare down, the buck just continued on it's path in a relaxed manner and disappeared into the thick. He said it wasn't eating, wasn't smelling the ground or anything, just slowly walking very cautiously. I'm not sure what that means, or what the heck it was doing. Dad said it was looking around and listening very carefully and moving ever so slowly. He said it looked to have eight points of extreme mass but not extreme length. He said the body mass was the most inspiring part.
If Dad gets this buck, I might as well give up trying to top his achievements. I'm already WAY behind.

hunting here in wmu 2g is hard..i saw from first day of archery to now4 doe,2 bucks, 1 was 6 point, other 4 point..1 legal buck was out of arrow range and i dont kill a doe..i hunt about 4 days a week..

ticks are terrible here in wmu 2g ,i was at doctors office again with tick bite..some hunters dogs had 30 to 40 ticks a day on them hunting ..

when you do see a deer, its usually by its self or another one with it..i remember when you would see on average 6 deer in group..

I've been seeing lots of deer lately. The farm I hunt is basically overrun with them though. I hunted a few other spots that a lot of people hunt regularly, and haven't seen a deer.

I got a small doe the first day of archery and a Button with a Muzzleloader tuesday in the rain.

Haven't seen very many as compared to previous years. Did see a few sublegal bucks in Greene Co.

Things should be changing in a week or two.
