I believe what looks like a tail is actually the back leg extended rearward. You can see white with spots on the inside of the leg. Add the white on the back of it's ears, and you certainly have a bobcat.

Look at the size of the tree in the background of the original second pic. Comparing the length of the cat in front of the tree with the approx. diameter of the tree,we may have a pic of a world record bobcat.

Mauser06 - I got the pictures from a neighbor up there. They took the picture on August 12th. It is along the road at the beginning of a gravel driveway. The reason it is on a fishing website is because that is where I host all my pictures for internet downloading. Go into member galleries and search under Aquasport190 and you'll see all of my pictures.
