Recieved 3 Antlerless tags (mine and my 2 sons)for 3B on Friday. That's 3 less doe that will be killed on Game Lands#12 and/or #36 this coming season.

I've got even a better idea. ALL license holders must return a kill report by a certain date, regardless of success or failure to be eligible to hunt the next year.

R.S.B...How are numbers doing in the ANF? How about Highland TWP, Elk County? This would be WMU 2F I believe. We didn't hunt there last year because we all tagged out in archery at home. We hunted there for 2 days the year before last and all we saw was lots of coyotes and 1 doe and 1 fawn between five hunters. As I said, I wouldn't personally shoot does there in 2F from my observations from 2 years ago. But then again, things can change quickly with deer reproduction.
I am seeing more deer in just about all areas of my district, including Highland Township, then I had seenthe past couple of years butthe deer numbers still aren't going to be as high as most hunters expect or want to see. It should be better hunting this year then it was the last couple of years with some really nice bucks out there this year.

A few of the other things I am noticing is that there is a lot more under story making it harder to see any distance in the woods. We are seeing fewer deer in the fields but more deer in the wooded areas, I suspect that is due to having more food in the wooded areas so the deer don’t need to spend as much time in the fields feeding.

Good Luck!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply, R.S.B.
I don't need to see a ton of deer to have a good hunt, but it was
unusually dead in that area two years ago. We didn't even hear any shots
most of the day (first day).
If coyote scat was valuable, I would be stinking rich!
I think we've got problems.

4 3B tags in this household that will go unused. Plus 4 DMAP tags that will go unfilled as well. My brother in law over in 3A got 2 tags for each of his sons plus one for him which will go unfilled. Our tags. Our choice.
