NY Hunting ages question
 

Im asking this because it really doesnt specify in the regulation book about this

Im 16 my birthday is in august, this coming waterfowl season can i hunt without being accompanied by a person 18 or over.

Also can i hunt turkeys, small game, and furbearers alone.

I believe so yes. Well I did when I was 16. When hunting big game you have to be with an adult 18 or over. I think if you are 18 and it's your first year hunting you also have to be with somebody.

You are no longer considered a junior hunter at the age of 16. Good luck!

If you are 16 you can hunt anything except deer by yourself. If you are 16 or 17 and it is your first year big game hunting you have to be accompanied by someone over 18 with at least one years experience hunting big game w/ a valid license.

so as far as small game, go right ahead
