what is This Thing

A Mysterious creature found in Turner Maine. It was evil looking,
and it had a horrible stench that will never be forgotten!!
In todays headline the beast is a strange looking animal blamed
for killing cats and a 16 year old doverman, as well as mauling a
Rottweiler. It was found dead after being apparently hit by a car.
It's scream and howles were gut wrenching that you would never
forget. It is currently being checked out by cryptozoologist. There has been calls coming into him from as far away as Germany inquiring about
this thing. When wildlife officals were notified they refused to check it
out and suggested it was someones dog that was killed. That has alot
of folks mad about them not checking it. Anways here is a pic for you
to check out.

RE: what is This Thing

This thing had a few extra toes on each paw with toenails curving
upwards looking like devil horns. It is believed that it has been a
legend for half a generation.Could it be part chow and coyote
mix? A cross with a wolf? Or some new creature being formed by
acid rain or simular chemicals? Currently we have to wait for the
tests to be made public before I will know anything about it. Perhaps
it is something from all the above. But whatever it is, I hope there is
no more of them. Here is another pic from the paper.

Nothing like this has ever been seen here in Maine before !

RE: what is This Thing

Wow! I would guess it to be a wolf mix.

RE: what is This Thing

Strange looking animal, but probably just some mixed breed wild dog.

Phil from Maine 08-18-2006 04:34 PM

RE: what is This Thing

First of all this is not someone's pet. It has short pointed ears
and it had fangs that curled upwards. And tommorrow makes a
week and still no owners and no one has seen this thing before
except when crossing a road chasing animals.
I think Airborneguy is most likely close to what it is. One thing
is for sure is that DNA samples have been sent out to different
locations. Calls have been reported to have come in from all over
the country, as well as most of the world. The most calls are
coming from Germany. The picture came from the Bangor Dailey
News paper. The story origanted out of the Sangerville News.
Until the results are back it can be anyones guess as to what the
heck it is. Myth around a creature simular to this has been going
around this area for sixteen years. So hopefully this will clear it
all up.

Looks wild looking and I got no clue what kind of mix/mixes could be envolved. Just courous of how long it will take after they name it before it ends up on the PGC protective list...lol

RE: what is This Thing

I think the biggest concern here would be 1) How long has it been out
there. 2) Has it bred with other animals to pass it's traits on. 3) And
how many more may be lurking from the breeding that created this one.

RE: what is This Thing

Looks part chow chow and coyote. If it was 40-50 lbs, and killed the rotty and dobie, that was a nasty little S.O.B.!

Phil from Maine 08-26-2006 07:31 PM

RE: what is This Thing

The earlyDNA test results say it is a canine, it shows it had a dog for a
mother and the father is unknown at this time. However more testing is
needed to see if the dead animal had genetic material from a wolf or any
other species. One part of the mystery that remains is the excat breed
of dog. The sample was really degraded and we were lucky. It is not
believed to be the same animal that killed the doberman and mauled
the rottweiler. And quote " I think there still is a mystery beast still
out there in the woods around Turner " the crypozoologist working on this.
