PA Game Lands well royalties

Afriend of mine asked me if I knew what happened to gas/oil well royalties on Pa. Game lands. He said he has never seen them listed in the breakdowns of funding and expenses for the Game Commission.
I told him that I'd never thought about that, and it was a good question. I'd take it to the boys on this forum, and I'm sure someone can answer it.
Please enlighten us.........................

If my math is right each county should have 30 people making $30,000 a year to spend $47,000,000.I think my county has 3 .I would like to see a list of employes and salary to see whos making what.

I don't think anyone responded because I don't think anyone can figure out what you are talking about. Help us out a little.

After looking at the site above I read the expenses with $47,000,000 in salaries and benefits ,that seems a bit excessive to me .How many people does it take and where and what do they do ?

Including benefits, $47 million would pay for 940 people at $50,000 each, or 1880 people at $25,000 each. This would include Administrative staff in Harrisburg and the regional offices, WCO's, and those who work on food and cover jobs. Actually for an agency with statewide responsibility, this is not a huge budget. Now, you might get into how expensive those benefits like health insurance and retirement are, but that is a symptom, not the real problem. Of course we could do away with the law enforcement function of the PGC and let the poachers have free rein. I don't believe you actually considered what that $47 million might pay for, but only thought it was a large amount of money.

To put it in perspective, the average wage earner in Pennsylvania probably makes somewhere in the neighborhood of $25,000. This includes convenience store clerks and burger flippers, so if we remove those sorts of jobs from the mix and consider only those whose education and experience qualify them for jobs such as these, the average probably goes up to around $45-50,000. Now, for people in positions where they supervise hundreds of employees, try hiring one of them for less than 100K. If you want a list of all employees and how much they make, I suggest that you first ask yourself how you would like it if your boss put a list of all his employees and how much they made on the internet. I would not think it unfair if a list of salary scales by position were to be posted. This should be open to public scrutiny. An individual's salary should not.
