I have shot most of my deer on opening day, however when I don't get one that day I have the most success in the 2nd and 3rd weeks. I don't see much the first week, but with the season starting later this year it might not be that bad.

I have traditionally seen more deer in the first and 3rd weeks. I have seen very few at all in the last week of any season.
If I remember correctly IF&W has reported in the past that the vast majority of deer tagged here are taken in the first week.

I believe the 3rd week is the best. However, depending on where you hunt, the 4th isn't too shabby either. I traditionally take the 4th week off but thanks to comp. time and some schedule juggling, I'm taking the last 3 days of the 3rd week and all of the last. The rut usually is really smoking then.
