There were four altogether, and the farmer has since killed one. I saw photos of them standing amongst livestock. I understand they have been injuring cattle as well as the horse. I believe the pics I saw were from a farm near Lima.

First off.... there is no pure eurasian wild boar in NA... they have all been bred off and are now mixs... well, except for a breeder in Canada and I believe the san diego zoo.... and with the monies they are asking for breed stock, no one would allow them to escape.

second, yes they are destructive and they do breed like sumbiotches... but they are controllable and they taste great!!

I personally feel it would be a good opp for NY hunters, but as an introduced species it would compete with the deer and turkeys and other native species.. so the bad far outweighs the good.
