woodland whisperer vs. wkrs game ear
Hey guys,I was thinking of getting one of those woodland whisperers sound amplifing devices. the one I seen on cabelas was $19.95, walkers game ear looks to be a popular one but 8 times the price. I know the old saying you get what you pay for. just looking to see what you guys think. Blacky

RE: woodland whisperer vs. wkrs game ear
I dont think I would trust my eardrum to a device so grossly underpriced as compared to the game ear. the amplification is on thing to do but the the auto cutout once a certain db is detected is something different altogether. You want to make sure that it works when you squeeze that trigger or you will need it everyday for the rest of your life.........like it or not.

I use the walker while bow hunting. I like it. Even though it has the auto turn off at a certain DB level, i wouldnt trust it. When low flying planes go over, I feel like my heads going to explode. Its not worth the risk.

Duckmastor2, are you saying that you wouldn't trust it when shooting a gun? I wasn't sure what you wouldn't trust. I was thinking of getting one for handgun hunting for myself. I have talked to others who have used it and said they wouldn't hunt without it. Can you elaborate for me thanks.

I wouldnt trust the automatic shut off to work. Im not saying it doesnt work, i'm just not taking a chance. Shotgun blasts are what caused my hearing problem to begin with. God forbid the thing doesnt shut off once and makes this ringing in my ear any worse.
