I've hunted every evening after school with a muzzleloader since the opening day. I've seen plenty of deer, a few really nice bucks, and one that just about made me sick. A REAL nice racked buck with about 8 points and who knows how many stickers, with an arrow in his back along his backbone. The poor guy didnt' seem to have a hard time running, had a slight limp but PLEASE to you bow hunters. Be sure of your shot and only take the shots you KNOW your going to make. It's a shame that this beautiful of a deer isn't probably going to make it through the winter as infection will probably get the best of him. Back to the hunting, i passed on a small doe, had 4 doe within range but winded me before i could get a shot. Tomorrow is the last day so i'll see what i can do.

Certainly an unfortunate sight but, deer are pretty tough, his wound will heal.
As for me last night I connected on my best buck yet. Nothing huge but a nice 7 pt with a foot spread. He was 12 yds angled away. He went 75 yds after being shot just behind the ribcage and burying into the far shoulder.

Two selfbow killed deer so far...a doe at 8 yds (from treestand) and an 8-point at 9 yds (from the ground). Both double lung hits with 100 yd recoveries. I had a 4 or 6 point amble slowly past me tonight just 15 yds away. I could only chuckle to myself, thinking you would be so busted if those horns weren't there. :^) One more doe tag to fill then I'll trade my broadheads in for blunts and turn my attention to squirrels.
