opening day 8 pointer
this is the deer i got upstate ny opening day.i left one stand @805 to go to my ground blind and i never made till he had come out. i have never heard a buck grunt in the woods before in my life. well i finally did and thought it was someone already in the woods. I kept looking around to see if someone was in the tree or on the ground. Well after the third grunt i saw a doe bolt and he came out. i tried to stop him but he wanted nothing to do with me so i waited for him to get away from a tree and a ishot. he was moving to quick and i shot him to far back in the spine, but the bone, or the bullet shattered and cut his liver and by the time i walked the 80 yards he had already expired.
