I decided to apply for the special firearms seasonpermit in suffolk county which would enable me to hunt on the DEC lands. It looked to me that i would have only one day to hunt and it is only by reservation. I also received 2 bonus 1C permits when they became available again on 11/01. My permit arrived yesterday and it seemed to be a decent draw number #808.Here's my problem I am starting a new job/career the day the L.I. season opens(01/09/06) therefore I am unable to hunt 1C this year(I only found out yesterday about the job). It says here that I can not transfer the special permit number but I assume I can transfer my 2 DMU 1C permits. I understand thatSuffolk county has a lot of deer so maybe there is someone that would like my two WMU1C permits to be signed over to them. If anyone is interested you can email me at

LIAF,
just because you dont make a reservation dont mean you cant hunt. you can still go on standby. 90% of the time you go you can find a spot to go

I can not take off during the week from my new job and being that the firearms season is only weekdays than I can not hunt this special season. So if anyone wants thesetwo 1C WMU permits just email. Pete

off rt. 51 on the tail end of Speonk. The club property is on 250 acres between suffolk co. parklands and suffolk co. comm. college. I'm guiding a bird hunt with my dogs on Sun. morning , then bowhunt in the afternoon. There's some huge monsters out there.
